Don't argue with it. To convince it that the one copy is only
going to cost you $8 is not possible. You are going to have to
send me via PayPal $14.95 plus $1.99 shipping. I will send you
a refund check for $6.95. (We can't reprogram the PayPal set up
for just EP members.) So be aware that if you want to order one
copy through PayPal you are going to have to send me via PayPal
$14.95 plus shipping, and I will send you a refund check with
your book. In the the end, the book will cost $8 plus shipping.
(I hope you followed this.)
(Since we are getting only 25
copies in the first run, I may not have enough copies to fill
all of the orders right off the bat. The second run of 500
copies will be delivered in mid May. Your order will be filled
by then at the latest.)
Announcement March 2005
Ken
won't toot his own horn but we will and it is with great pride
that we announce that Ken has just received an award from the
University of Southern Maine. The editor of the Southern Maine
Review called Ken to tell him his poem "Stars in Her Pocket" was
selected as this year's winner of the distinguished Provost's
Poetry Award, given out periodically (apparently not every year)
to a student or faculty member who has demonstrated unusual
talent writing poetry There is a $500 gift awarded in addition
to the distinction of being selected.
"Last fall I submitted a collection of my Maine poems for the
consideration of the editorial board of the Journal. They
selected "Stars in Her Pocket" for inclusion in the journal, and
then, unbeknownst to me, passed my poems on to the award
selection committee. I didn't even know I was being considered
as a candidate for the Provost's Poetry Award. I'm thrilled."

In addition, Ken's poem "Monhegan Main Street at Dawn" was
selected as the featured poem of the week a few weeks ago on the
Monhegan Island Web Site, and the poem is to be included in an
anthology of poems about Monhegan Island and Ken has been
invited to participate in a poetry reading on the island in
June.
Ken, from all of us at EP, we are proud of you and so happy
you're part of our family. This is exactly what we strive for.
